One-time installation for e-ticket scanning devices
A) iOS
If you are an iOS user follow the steps below to download the Sponsorworks Event App so you are ready to check in guests.
- Ensure no ad / content blockers are active on the device as they may stop the Event App working
- Recommend that autofill of passwords is enabled (in iOS, Settings > Passwords > Autofill passwords)
- Sign-in to the Event App in Safari (iPad or iPhone) (add /EventApp after your instance's main URL)
- Login using the event staff account for the event (admin or guest admin role) and, when prompted, choose to save the password to make logging in easier in future
- Tap the ‘AA’ in the address bar > Website Settings
- Change Camera to Allow (instead of Ask which is the default)
- Turn off Request desktop website (this is important or the app won’t install properly)
- Click
and ‘Add to Home Screen’ – this will install it as an app called ‘Guest Admin’. Before clicking Add to confirm ensure the icon is ‘S’. If not, tap cancel to go back, refresh the page in Safari and then try again.
- Re-load the app using the ‘Guest Admin’ icon on the app screen and check it all works
B) Android
- Ensure no ad / content blockers are active on the device as they may stop the Event App working
- Recommend that autofill of passwords is enabled (in iOS, Settings > Passwords > Autofill passwords)
- Sign-in to the Event App in Google Chrome (add /EventApp after your instance's main URL)
- Login using the event staff account for the event (admin or guest admin role) and, when prompted, choose to save the password to make logging in easier in future
- Tap the ‘AA’ in the address bar > Website Settings
- Change Camera to Allow (instead of Ask which is the default)
- Turn off Request desktop website (this is important or the app won’t install properly)
- Click the menu icon (3 lines), then Add Page To... then select Home Page – this will install it as an app called ‘Guest Admin’.
- Re-load the app using the ‘Guest Admin’ icon on the app screen and check it is working.
- Finally, you will need to enable the camera each time within the app for eticket scanning. Go the Scan etickets tab, select Start scanning and choose Allow to enable the camera when prompted.
If the camera is blocked on websites, you may need to visit the Settings app on Android, then Apps and notifications > Chrome > Permissions > Camera, and set this to Allow while using the app.

Security
We strongly recommend that devices use to access the Event App are PIN protected as guest administrator user have full view & edit access to the database.
