Methods of registering new users
There are four possible methods of registering new users on the site, described below.
Workflows 1 & 2 are enabled on all system configurations. Workflows 3 & 4 may be enabled, depending on your particular system configration.
- Admins invite selected users - This is always available to admins. Please see the article Inviting New Users.
- Users are registered when tickets are assigned - There is a feature to assign tickets / assets to a 'New Users' during the request workflow. This will assign tickets and invite them to register via the Order Confirmed & New Registration email template.
- Users register themselves - Useful if you want to take workload of the administrators. This requires the public registration feature to be enabled. Enabling this feature is not recommended if you want to limit access to the system.
- Users access via Single Sign On (SSO) - If your system is integrated with your organisation's SSO platform, then they will be automatically registered onto the system with the basic user role the first time they access the system. On first login, they will be asked to select their division(s).
