Overview
You can control whether standard users see the quantity of tickets available in an allocation. This can now be managed either across the entire platform or at the category level for more granular control. Admins and approvers will always see allocation quantities.
When quantities are hidden, users will see a label like “Tickets available” instead of the specific number of tickets.
Note: If you'd like to hide allocation quantities across your entire platform, simply enable the setting mentioned in Step 1 below.
Activation & Set-up
Step 1: Check the Platform-Wide Setting
To manage visibility at the category level, you first need to ensure the platform-level setting is disabled.
Go to Settings → Preferences
Locate “Hide allocation quantity available from users”
Make sure it is switched off
(If enabled, this will hide quantities for all users across all allocations and override any category-specific settings.)
Step 2: Configure Category-Level Visibility
Once the platform-wide setting is off:
Go to the Categories page
Select the relevant category and click Edit Category
Find “Hide allocation quantities from users”
Toggle on or off as required
When this is enabled for a category, users assigned to allocations in that category will see “Tickets available” rather than the exact quantity.
FAQs
Q: What happens if both the platform and category settings are enabled?
A: The platform-level setting takes precedence. If it is enabled, users will not see allocation quantities regardless of category-level settings.
Q: Can approvers and admins still see allocation quantities?
A: Yes, allocation quantities are always visible to approvers and admins, even if the setting is enabled.
